Funk Lifted

I’ve been in a tiny funk lately.  There is no real reason to be in one as my life is very blessed.  But funks happen, you know?  Feeling sick of the dull drums, I did something that I feel is a very female move, I went for a drastic haircut.  I decided not to chop the length of my hair but rather go for bangs.  Knowing full well that if I hated it, I could put the bangs back in a bobby pin and move on.

It was a little scary because the last time I had bangs, I looked like this.

But, I’m actually not one to get scared about hair cut changes.  Once, in highschool, I said “surprise me” to my hairstylist.  The next thing I knew he was cutting it so short he needed to get out men’s sheers for the bottom.  Lesson learned on that one.

Here is the new look…

I’ve got to say I’m liking the change.  If nothing else for the change in and of itself.   I’m feeling refreshed and am back at it again!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! You look so fabulous!

I feel ya, I’ve been going through a super funk lately too and it bothers me that I can’t seem to snap myself out of it. I, too, changed my hair color.. went to a salon in the west village and told them to do as they pleased… I paid a pretty penny for it but I love the look (painted on highlights, auburn color). I miss you! Lets keep in touch about planning a trip to San Fran in October!

kate, L.O.V.E. your new bangs; the look is quite audrey hepburn and very flattering. i have tried to get my allison to ‘do’ bangs for about 20 years (she is 25) sooooooo you get the idea!! she DID get a trim for the r.w. and SAID there were bangs, but i can’t find them!?! she has changed (almost) her entire outfit for friday, but is finally happy w/ the result, thank goodness. i will forward your “bangs adventure ” across the pond, let’s hope it inspires her.

Very cute. When my hair gets long, I sometimes think of getting a buzz which I’ve never done. Or even all the way shaved just to see. Instead I get the same hair cut I’ve mostly had since I stopped riding skateboards 7 days a week.

Amazing! I have done the blunt bangs twice to get out of a hair rut and have loved it. It really transforms your look and makes you want to dress a little edgier for your hair 🙂 Plus as you said you can pin them back and it takes like two weeks for them to grow long enough to push to the side. Gorgeous!
