Weekend Recap

This past weekend was one of those perfect weekends!  Where every minute is spent either in a fun or productive manner and you give yourself a chance to breathe.

On Saturday, we went to my ranch for the day to go hunting for porcini’s.

That night we ate fresh porcini risotto, flank steak and porcini pizza outdoors under a sky littered with stars.  We drove home in the dark and woke early in the morning for a long walk through the Presidio.  Then, came some work.

Here was the nursery Sunday morning…

Samples went up…

Decisions were made, such as, I could not have been more wrong with putting a true mint up in the room.  Whoops.  But, a softer green with more gray in it would be just perfect.  We decided on Silver Sage by Benjamin Moore.  Then, Graham got to painting…

All finished and it’s looking great!!

It only took him three hours from start to absolute finish and I cooked and cleaned while he painted so it was a productive day.  It’s hard to capture what the color truly looks like on my phone without any natural light in the room but you get the idea. We finished off the productivity by stopping by Cheap Pete’s and picking out a custom frame for Julia Lynn’s flower print, which will go in the nursery above the changing table…

Julia Lynn flower prints are available on her website: here

Then we headed to the beach to watch the sunset.  Perhaps it was the hormones talking, but I was completely overwhelmed with gratitude that we get to live in such a beautiful city.

After sunset, we returned back to our apartment for a home cooked meal, that gasp…I cooked.

I hope that you had a lovely weekend as well!

I was part of a painting project where the chosen color was mint. As David and I were finishing up the third coat, after two days of painting that bumpy old plaster, Julia was sitting with the color wheel picking out a new color. We put the furniture back in anyway and the color softened but she never did like it. Mint is a tough one.

Great color choice for the walls! Very excited to see how the nursery comes together (and that little giraffe is so cute!).
