Bergere Chairs: Before and After

**If you’re new to my blog and coming from Elements of Style, welcome!  I’m thrilled to have you here with me today.  If you get a chance, take a look around; you can click here and here to see other projects I’ve done.

I found a great pair of antique bergere chairs on Craigslist for a client.  We loved the style and look of the chairs but the dated fabric had to go.

Before:

And the After:

I’m so happy with how it all came out.  The chairs look even better in person (sorry for my terrible I-phone taking skills).  We went with a printed cotton on the back in a fun pattern and then a velvet on the front.  Not only is the velvet extremely soft to the touch, it’s also durable for little ones.  That’s how we wanted it.  Party on the back and kid friendly on the front.  The rest of the room is really coming together and I can’t wait to show you the finished product!

These pillows are in the mail for each chair…

I am absolutely CRAZY about this chair and adore the contrasting piping. I am waiting with bated breath to see the finished room this is going in!

Hi, I love your idea with these beautiful chairs and since my two need re-upholstering I am going to copy your idea! I live in Lahore, in Pakistan, where the cloth is wonderful and prices reasonable…
