Bedroom: Before and After

Happy Monday!  Remember this sneak peek of bedding I showed you on Friday?

Well, today you’ll get to see the beds all made up.  But let’s show the before first:

It was Eddie Bauer Home circa 1992.  Although, I think the bolster pillow is Pierre Duex, which is a classic.

Here’s what it looks like now…

I wanted to stay very much within the vibe of the rest of the house, which is country chic.  I’m big on having a headboard but there isn’t one in this room.  Those two oars were up on the picture rail in the living room and so I moved them to behind the bed.  I switched the art to a slightly larger scale piece that had some blues in it .   I felt like the oars anchored the space and gives the same effect as a headboard.

Below are the sources for the bedding – enjoy!

Pillows Shams: John Robshaw

Green Pillow: Pottery Barn

Round Decorative Pillow: Small Antique Store

Standard pillows – Vintage Ralph Lauren

Quilt: Roberta Roller Rabbit

Comforter: Pottery Barn

Bed Skirt: Pottery Barn

Drapes: Pottery Barn

The room is country sophisticated and those oars as the head board really pull it together. It has such a pleasing look; it makes me want to crawl under that down comforter with a good book and a loving hubby. 41 years ago we spent our honeymoon in that room! Now the room looks fresh and charming and we look a bit bedraggled but still as happy as we were in September of 1970.

Amazing transformation! The oars rock, and I’d steal that ticking stripe quilt, if I could. 😉
