An Even Better Delivery

Yesterday, I mentioned that I was expecting a delivery of a beautiful sofa for a client.  The sofa came, it was perfect and I absolutely love it in the space – here’s a sneaky sneak peak (not styled and unfinished project)…

What could be a better delivery then that?!  A beautiful baby boy!!!!!  My sister-in-law is a champion and gave birth to the most precious baby boy yesterday.  He’s so cute.  Thank you, Lord, for a healthy baby and mom.  I know “Grandfather” (my dad) is smiling down on him.

So today, I wanted to dedicate this post to my sister-in-law, Lucy, my brother, Don and their beautiful new baby – Austin.  Austin is a family name in our family and Lucy’s family; I LOVE the name and baby.  With three little boys, their clan is complete and oh so adorable.  Congrats!!  Love you all.

I’m happy to report that the Vanguard sofa I ordered for a client is finally getting delivered today.  There was a slightly longer wait then normal but hopefully that’ll make the sofa that much sweeter.

Here’s a sneak peak…

It also comes slipcovered, if you please…

Vanguard sofa, available to the trade and “select retailers”.  By my excitement, you’d think this beauty was getting delivered to my home. Gotta say, I love my job! 🙂  Sorry for the short post today…

New Pillow

It all started with a little post from Christina over at Full House.  She is one of my all time favorite bloggers and a must read on my list.  She’s also a creative genius, check out her guest bedroom….

Amazeballs.  I love the blown up dollar bill sign with “In God We Trust” circled.  Many times Christina posts items that I love and often dream about purchasing.  But about a month ago I actually pulled the trigger after this post on hand blocked print fabric.

I loved these prints from this e-bay store so much, that I whipped out my credit card and ordered away.  About ten days later a package came from India; I felt so worldly without ever setting foot outside of my apartment door.  I then ran down to Fabric Outlet in the mission and got some coordinating orange fabric uber cheap.  I then sent it off to my seamstress.

Finally, this little puppy came home in the car with me…

And happily hopped onto my settee…

Welcome home, pillow…

The pillow is actually made to go on my bed as the last little piece for my bedding.  However, the headboard is still en route from Florida so for the time being, it’ll sit pretty on the settee.  I love the scale of it on there that I may just keep it as is.

Doors By The Sea

We had such a blast this past weekend.  On Friday night, we cruised down to Carmel where we had a fabulous dinner.  The next day, we took off for Paso Robles for a gorgeous wedding (I forgot to take pictures).  While walking around the town of Carmel, I fell in love with the cottage doors there and so I thought I’d devote today’s post to them…hopefully, they can provide someone with door style or color ideas…

Hands down the cutest fire station, I’ve ever seen!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone!!  Phew, this week has been busy, busy, busy and I’m looking forward to some R&R.  I have a huge dose of rest and relaxation coming my way, thankfully.

Graham and I will be heading down south for a wedding this weekend.  Graham surprised me with a hotel and dinner reservations in Carmel tonight.  I have been squealing with excitement since he told me – one of the greatest surprises!!  Then on Saturday we’ll be heading down to Paso Robles (wine country) for a wedding.  Can’t wait for the festivities to begin!!

Must go crank out work now.  I’ve got those vineyard grapes (or rather the wine produced from them) in mind to get me to my weekend.  Have a fabulous one!!

Backyard Shower

I’m co-hosting a baby shower in ten days.  It’s going to be an outdoor luncheon at my mom’s house.  While blog hopping, I found this cute outdoor shower at the blog Bre{Style}.  It’s such a sweet and simple shower and I love some of the rustic touches.

Great job, Bre!  I love the relaxed feeling and all of the cute details.  That diaper cake is the best one I’ve ever seen!  I’m off to plan the shower…any tips?

Sunshine Day

Ahhh…we finally had a sunny day here in San Francisco yesterday.  It’s put me in a super good mood.  The sun has me dreaming of creating a comfy outdoor space, perhaps with some Moroccan flair.

Happy sunshine day!!

Twinkling Star

                                                                                                  Betsy Burnham

As I mentioned in Friday’s post, I bought a Moravian star at a flea market, which I plan to convert into a pendant light.  I have always loved them in inspirational decor shots and I can’t wait to use mine.  The landlord has given us strict instructions to not change out the lighting so I will have to wait until we move.  For now, our star sits on our speaker…

But someday it will hang in all of its glory, like his fellow brothers and sisters…

M. Elle Design

                                                                                                 M. Elle Design

I lucked out and got mine for $20.  That is not the typical price for these pendants.  Although, you can find some that don’t break the bank.

Here are a few options…

Amazon sells them in various sizes from 9″ to 24″ and they vary in price from $175 – $420

For $179, Shades of Light makes this great semi-flush mount, which is perfect if you have lower ceilings.

Doesn’t mine look so sad and lonesome compared to all the others?  Counting the days/months until I can hang any sort of fixture that I damn well please.

Welcome to the Jungle

Always a good day when I can quote a Guns N Roses song as my blog title on Monday morning.

Looky looky what I purchased…

Totally over the top vintage jaguar bracelet.  I had been hearting one  for a long time but it was uber expensive.  This one was a fraction of the price.  Yipsters.

I have become more and more daring with my accessories and some clothes.  Do you think I’m turning into a hipster?  God no…please, say it aint so.  Must stop buying things I find deliciously weird.  But, I don’t think I can.  I blame my parents.  They were into weird way before it was hip.

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone!  Isn’t it great that it’s the weekend again?!  What will you be up to?

Last night, we had a few couples over for dinner and so I got a chance to dress up the table again.  This time, I chose this vintage bamboo fabric.  I’m strangely attracted and repulsed to the fabric all at the same time.

I first tried out a bit of a Moroccan look…

I used the vintage fabric that I love/hate as the tablecloth and then orange Moroccan grill napkins and brown placemats that we got as wedding gifts.  I then placed a Moravian star that I had purchased at the flea market two weeks ago for $20 (I plan to convert it into a pendant light).  I also pulled out the gold flatware that I blogged about here.

But I wasn’t feeling the overall look.  It just felt a little forced to me.  So I decided to go another direction and soften things up.

I found a set of eight linen napkins and placemats in a cute soft yellow check pattern for $17.00.  I snatched them up and decided to go with a softer, more country look.  I then used out brown water pitcher for flowers (which I should have cut down shorter).  I wish I had soft blue mason jars for the drinks, but I don’t.

I felt this brought on a softer, more casual vibe that I was going for.  It was also one of the first sunny days in a while so it was time to capitalize on the warmth and bring it indoors any way I could.

Which look do you prefer?  What do you think of the tablecloth fabric?  If you hate it, no worries, cause I kind of do to.  If you love it, awesome, cause I kind of do to.
