Weekend Recap

After a very late night arrival, we are back home from Maryland.  It was a short weekend there (especially since our Thursday flight was cancelled) but totally worth it.  The wedding was beautiful and I fell head over heels for the Chesapeake Bay area, specifically St. Michaels.

Here are some I Phone pics with highlights from the trip…

We had Saturday brunch at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels.  It’s a very famous Inn that you may recognize as the place where the reception for the Wedding Crashers movie was filmed…

There is a large lawn where you can sit and watch the boats sail by

The interior has a nautical feel packed with history…

After driving around town, we believe we found the private residence where the bulk of Wedding Crashers was filmed.  What do you think, is this the place?

The town of St. Michaels has lots of cute, colorful shops.  Check out this ice cream store –

While there, we couldn’t help but do some shopping.  Their antique shopping is fantastic and your mouth will drop with the affordable pricing (compared to California).

Loved this bin of Dash and Albert rugs galore…

Our friends almost bought this beautiful antique dresser…

I was like a kid in a candy store shopping around for antiques…

And the boys didn’t mind themselves all that much as long as they were talking about sports while shopping…

I ended up with a few accessory purchases: a pair of shoes, a bangle and a vintage necklace…

This is the vintage necklace which I wore to the wedding…

(An awkward photo of me but I didn’t know how else to show the necklace to you guys; I thought it was a fun little nod to the Navajo trend.)

And the only two pictures from the wedding – I was having too much fun to snap away.  But it was a gorgeous wedding down to every last detail.

Cheers!!  What were you up to this weekend?

the cheasepeake bay area looks wonderful, sort of balboa island and carmel mixed into one. . . our entire family was GLUED to coverage of the R.W> and yes, we did see our daughter and her boyfriend and their coterie of 8 as they entered the Abbey; both CNN and the BBC/PBS specials showed them as they enetered!! we spoke w/ ‘the kids’ last evening and they regaled us w/ storiy after story after story about their time @ BP both for the Queen’s breakfast and Prince Charles’s dinner/reception for the bride and groom; other than that, we just basked in the Corona del Mar sunshine and fowers.

Your bangs look great!! And your virtual tour of Chesapeake Bay made for a welcome Monday morning treat! Returned from vacation last night, bumms! Love the nautical stuff, can’t wait to break it out for the 5 nice summer days I’ll expect before September!

So glad you got to go to St. Michaels! Isn’t it charming! You were so close to D.C.! We were down at a wedding in Charlottesville this weekend and the weather was just perfect! So glad you had a good trip to this coast. Next time you are out here we’ll have to meet up!

I was thinking about you while I was there!! I kept thinking how much you would love it there – glad to hear you’ve been. Charlottesville sounds like a great time. I wish I had time to visit you while we were there, but the trip was so brief. I’m sure we’ll be back for another Georgetown/DC wedding.
