Gwyneth Paltrow’s NYC Home

After catching a glimpse of Gwyneth Paltrow’s New York City kitchen in the August issue of Vogue, I wanted to see the rest of the home. Lucky for me, a reader miraculously read my mind and sent me a link to a blog that had posted the Gwyneth’s loft (location for the Vogue shoot). Thanks to the blog, The Happy Home, I can share the photos with all of you. The apartment was designed by the fabulous team Roman and Williams.

My absolute favorite room in the Tribecca apartment is the kitchen. I’m in love with the massive tiled hood and the white on white on white works really well in this loft space. If this were my kitchen, I would add pops of color with an abstract painting or even as simple as a green kitchen aide.
The Kitchen
The eating nook
I love when hallways are covered from top to bottom with wallpaper; it is such a wonderful trick for adding high drama. However, I must admit that I’m not the biggest fan of this wallpaper; it comes off a bit too garish for my taste.
On the other hand, the wallpaper for Apple’s room, I adore. The soft butterflies add the perfect whimsical touch that every little girl needs in a room. Only a celebrity couple’s daughter could have such a bed.
I am loving the crystal chandelier and the swing chair- what a perfect mix between sophisticated luxury and laid back rock and roll. I would have liked to have seen more color; I don’t know how they can keep this room clean with two little ones. Although, according to the Vogue article, Gwyneth is a self-proclaimed neat freak.
All in all it is a beautiful home fit for an A list celebrity and her rocker hubby. What do you think of it?

It’s too much white for me. Like you, I’d want pops of color. All that marble in the kitchen would be murder to take care of if one is truly cooking in the space.

PS: Thanks for the mod cloths web site. I loved it and have put my girls onto it.

I agree about the upkeep on the marble. Apparently Gwyenth cooks a lot because she just published a cookbook. I’d imagine she has some help though. 🙂
Happy you like the modcloth website – it is fun!

I looooove Gwenyth, thank you for sharing what you found! It is alot of white, but when you’re rich enough to have many homes you may have the luxury of having one that’s almost unrealistic! Perhaps the kids are only allowed to play with crayons at their London home…

Ha ha! You had me laughing so hard with the “perhaps the kids are only allowed to play with crayons at their London home.”

Gorgeous but a little too fancy for me. I do love the dish rack over the sink and her boyfriend jeans and button down are so cute. love the post!

I agree – it wouldn’t feel very homey. But beautiful. I love her outfit as well; I just went to Anthropologie yesterday to try to find the a similar pair of boyfriend jeans but with no luck.

What a great post! I believe the “eating nook” is the size of my entire apartment. I love the all white decor and would love to get in the kitchen and cook up a storm- all vegan of course 🙂

Ha ha – it isn’t much of a “nook”, is it? Oh yes, plenty of vegan food to go around. 🙂
