Fashion Friday

It’s been a little while since I’ve had a “Fashion Friday” post on the blog. The other day I stumbled across fashion shots of Marissa Webb, former head designer of J.Crew and I found her outfits so incredibly inspiring.
Isn’t she fabulous? She’s also very inspiring with her work ethic, “Work hard! Do whatever it takes to stand out from the others. Don’t ever think it’s a slam dunk. Learn something new everyday. When I first started in this industry, I would take any unpaid internship and was just thrilled to be there. I ate Ramen noodles everyday because I had no money. I remember once I had to pick up a bunch of garments for a show and it was pouring out. I was standing on the sidewalk with my arms stacked full, looking like a wet dog, when a taxi pulled up. I told him I had no money, but he took pity and offered me a free ride. I wish I could thank him for his kindness now. The simple message: It’s not easy, but if you want it, you must work for it. Stay positive and take everything as a lesson for the future.” - Veronica Webb, via Beautiful Stranger

Veronica is amazing and that last outfit; gray dress w/ black polka dots AND pockets is taking my breath away! Her style is iconic and she’s so YOUNG; incredible! My second fav is the striped sweater over the smaller stripe blouse, so French. . . Thanks, Kate, for introducing me to her, she has a new fan. And her words reasssure me once again that “Pretty girls Go Places; Smart Girls Go EVERYWHERE.” dmm
